Our philosophy Method

The scene adapts to the animal, not the other way round.

This is how we work with production companies and film crews, from the moment we receive the script until the animal is back home.

The bond

To us, animals are family.

Juan Luis Malpartida kisses the head of a golden eagle

It is what Juan Luis and our team have always done: build a bond between person and animal. We work from that trust.

  • HandlingThe bond makes handling the animal and on-set tasks easier.
  • WellbeingAnimals are in better condition and less stressed.
  • SafetyThe animal feels safe at all times, on set too.

Process Six stages

From script to final shot

This is how we support the animal and the production company at every stage, from the moment we receive the script until the animal is back home.

01

Before the shoot

It all starts with understanding the scene.

  • We read the script or storyboard with the animal in mind.
  • We choose the right animal for what the scene requires.
  • We suggest how to adapt the scene to the animal, not the other way round.
  • What helps us from the production company: script or storyboard, dates and location.
02

Preparation

The animal gets used to what it will find.

  • We familiarise the animal with the setting and with the people on the shoot.
  • We tailor preparation times to each species and each scene.
03

During the shoot

The animal works with people it knows.

  • Our team stays with the animal at all times.
  • We respect its working and resting times.
  • We set up a rest area for the animal on set.
04

Wellbeing

The bond reduces stress and keeps the animal feeling safe at all times.

  • We have our own veterinary training.
  • We work with specialist vets depending on the species.
  • We have clear limits: there are scenes we do not accept.
05

Paperwork and coordination

Filming with animals comes with legal requirements.

  • Spanish Law 7/2023 requires a formal declaration (declaración responsable) to include animals in filming.
  • We handle the declaration and any permits where required.
  • We take care of transporting the animals.
  • We provide the production company with the necessary insurance and documentation.
06

After the shoot

  • The animal goes back home and we keep a close eye on how it is doing.
